Zen Living and The Art of Kitchen Renovation

Your kitchen is the heart of your home.  When considering a Kitchen Renovation, it should be approached with care and great planning.  Zen Living Kitchen & Baths has been involved with thousands of successful kitchen and bathroom projects over the years.  We’re known for our unique Zen perspective on the Art of Kitchen renovation. We believe that kitchens should be functional, beautiful and peaceful. Zen kitchen decor is all about creating a modern, balanced and harmonious eating place for you and your family.  In this hectic world, a well-designed kitchen is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  You don’t have to be a monk to benefit from this Zen wisdom:

At Zen Living Kitchen & Baths, every member of our work family carries on the “Zen” tradition. Zen Kitchen Cabinet renovators single-task. When tiling, they tile; when painting, they paint; and, when installing kitchen cabinets,  they install them. Our mantra is: never attempt too many things at once;  do one thing at a time, and do it very well.  Move with deliberation, with respect for the job at hand,  and for the client’s design.  Focus on the task; when one is done, and the work area has been cleaned, move on to the next task.

“Zen is not some kind of excitement, but concentration on our usual everyday routine.” – Shunryu Suzuki

Do less.  Zen renovators lead a purposeful life: they wake early and have a day filled with work. However, they don’t have an unending task list either — there are certain things to accomplish each day to ensure the work flows gracefully.

Zen Kitchen Renovation & Cabinet Making

We believe that when you reduce “multi-tasking”, when you do less,  there is a simple elegance  to the work – you can plan it , and do it better.  Try to squeeze too much into the day – you’ll complete more – poorly, and you’ll be missing the satisfaction of a job well done and a happy client.

Put space between things. Related to the “Do less” rule, but it’s a way of managing your schedule so that you always have time to fully complete each task. Don’t schedule things close together — instead, leave a bit of room between tasks on your schedule – in a kitchen renovation it’s inevitable that something will unexpectedly take longer than planned!

“When walking, walk. When eating, eat.” Do one thing at a time.

The entire crew at Zen Living Kitchen & Baths, takes pride in craftsmanship and in “doing things right, the Zen way.”  We’re eager to show you the difference a “Zen Kitchen Renovation” can make to your home

You have the answer. Just get quiet enough to hear it.
